Very old German viola, probably built around 1800. This antique, characterful viola is a rarity for players with slightly smaller hands. With a body length of only 36.5 cm, it is characterized by excellent musical qualities. Not surprisingly for its age, the viola has various traces of use and small repairs, but is in good condition. The neck and scroll are also of a later date, a repair that was carried out very professionally. The quality of the beautiful gold-yellow brown oil varnish and the characteristic high archching show that this is an instrument of high quality. Despite its small size, the viola has a compelling, mature sound that is warm and round and full of character. Antique string instruments of this quality are extremely rare in the smaller sizes. It is therefore, partly due to its affordable price, a great opportunity to play the viola comfortably without compromising the sound.
